Safety in the Workplace: Our Bleed Control Solutions Will Do The Job

A company has no greater responsibility than the protection of peoples lives.

And as concerning statistics continue to rise, taking additional safety precautions has never been more critical.

Incidents are taking place in work environments across the world, from factories and offices to corporate headquarters and airports.

This is why we’ve made our range of emergency medical solutions available to the public.
They were originally engineered for military but can now be used in civilian environments - allowing bystanders to administer life-saving trauma care.

The versatile, bespoke product range has everything needed to stabilize a bleed before the emergency services arrive.

In light of this, we’ve looked into the top ten reasons why bleed control solutions are a vital measure every business needs to take:

1. Incidents can take place anywhere, anytime

In 2018 three workplace shootings in three different states took place within a 24- hour period. Former U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, of Arizona said that “no matter where you work, learn, play, or live – you have a right to feel safe, and I’m horrified that that’s no longer the reality in America.”

2. Workplace disputes can escalate

In Bilston, West Midlands, a father of seven was jailed for 19 months after stabbing the man next to him on a factory production line. After a disagreement the worker picked up his knife and delivered a swinging blow, causing serious injury.

3. Unprovoked attacks need to be considered

In January, a Texas steel plant employee attacked and killed his supervisor. The county Sheriff said there was “no proper motive” for the attack, the victim died at the scene. The attacker also left a co-worker in critical condition.

4. An estimated 2 million violence cases are reported every year in the U.S.

Every year, millions of American workers report having been victims of workplace violence. In 2017, assaults resulted in 18,400 injuries and 458 fatalities, according to statistics.

5. Untreated mental health disorders are a risk to other employees

In February five people were killed in Aurora, Illinois, when a man being let go from his job opened fire at the Henry Pratt Co. in the Chicago suburb. During the termination meeting, the gunman took out a pistol and began killing people.

6. The emergency services can’t always reach the scene in time

Last summer, a British Airways engineering died at Heathrow airport after a car
crash. The paramedics took over an hour to reach the scene. The engineers family say the response of emergency services played a role in his death.

7. Workplace incidents are statistically on the rise

In a recent survey, 48% of workers said their organisations have experienced an incident of workplace violence at some point, up from the 36% who reported this during a similar survey that was conducted in 2012.

8. Fail to prepare, prepare to fail

Statistics show that nearly one-third of U.S. employees and nearly one out of five HR professionals are currently unsure or don’t know what to do if they witness or are involved in a workplace violence incident.

9. One in seven employees don’t feel safe at work

With workplace violence on the rise all over the globe, workers’ anxiety levels have massively increased. Not only will protective measures give your workforce peace of mind, they will respect you for valuing their safety. This highlights the need for every business to implement prevention, training and response measures.

10. Instant bleed control will save lives

A trauma victim can bleed to death in five minutes, often before even the quickest of emergency services can arrive at the scene. Early intervention is critical after a trauma injury, therefore equipping and educating your workforce will allow them to administer life-saving care should the unthinkable happen.
